Frequently Asked Questions

Do you have a studio space?

We sure do! Roll Cut Studios has 4,000 sq ft of production space at 320 North Damen Avenue, in Chicago’s West Town We’re close to the CTA Green Line, Union Station, the United Center and Goose Island Taproom. Our space has a commercial kitchen, cyclorama studio, daylight photo studio, prop room, editing space, and video village area. We’re in the Make City/ICNC complex, with direct access to a freight elevator/loading dock and Make City’s private conference facilities.

What industries do you create content for?

Food, Beverage and Hospitality are our bread and butter. With 15 years working for brands in the F&B industry, we’re really good at it (We’ve even got the APAs and Emmys to prove it) Our portfolios also include healthcare, wellness and manufacturing, because Food & Bev crosses all industries. But we love the thrill of a cheese pull; the chemical reaction of ingredients; the gracefulness of a splash.

Do you shoot on location?

Huh? Sorry. We’re still thinking about how much we love cheese pulls.

Do you shoot on location?

Yup. We work throughout the US and can either send our production team, or source local crew members (whatever makes the most sense for your budget.) And if you want us to scout the perfect location for you, we can do that too.

How about talent casting?

How about it? We can manage casting internally through our in-house process or collaborate with external casting directors. We’re able to source all levels of talent, from real people and hand models to represented talent and professional actors.

Do you only shoot integrated photo & video content?

Nope. We can shoot whatever you need: still images, video content, stop motion, animation. In fact, we created and produced a youtube series for Purple Carrot, that premieres in Fall 2025. While we specialize in combining shoots to optimize production budgets, our still work and motion work are both beautiful on their own.

Can you help me find a celebrity chef to work with?

Boy, do we know a lot of great chefs (and restaurants) throughout the world. Our co-founder, Huge Galdones, has been photographing the Food & Wine Festival in Aspen for 13 years, and has shot many award-winning cookbooks. So if you’re looking for a chef or restaurant to partner with, we’re glad to make some recommendations or introductions.

Can I tour your studio?

Of course! We’re happy to set up a tour when you’re in Chicago. And if you’d like a virtual tour, we can do a virtual capabilities presentation for you. Reach out to us on our contact page or email missy@rollcutstudios.com to schedule a visit.
